Take a Sentimental Journey is an extension of our client's physical vintage and designer costume jewelry store in Roseville, CA. The owners were ready to take the plunge into digital selling and takeasentimentaljourney.com was the result!

VISUALS

The owners wanted a design that brings to mind the classic 40s art-deco style. They also wanted a site that was not overly graphical and slow for their modem visitors, so we went with quick-loading but fun line art and deco fonts.

APPLICATIONS

Take a Sentimental Journey's website showcases our extremely easy to use shopping cart system with numerous features:

  • A search engine tied to the inventory (with results appearing color coded to easily see what you found)
  • Easy to add and remove items from cart
  • Visual system (implementing photos of the products) so a customer can always see what is in their cart
  • Easy to check out, with two choices - payment through the mail and credit card
  • Figures tax for California residents (a legal requirement)
  • Figures shipping (including free shipping for orders over a certain amount)
  • Supports international buyers
  • When looking at an item a customer can with one click write a question to the owners about that item
  • Automatically handles sending out receipts to the customer and reports to the owner when a sale is made.
  • And much more...

On the back end the owners have the following administration features:

  • Create, edit and view inventory items
  • Upload (and delete) photos from items
  • Search for an item numerous ways (by number, by word, by price, category, etc.)
  • See all outstanding orders and manage them
  • Easily e-mail a customer from the order page
  • Take a bad order (failed to pay) and immediately relist all items in the order with a click of the button
  • And much more...

And just like all of our customers, they have our free logging package that tells them minute by minute what their customers are doing on their site. They can look and see what people are searching for, what category's are most looked at, etc.!
